Product Description

Zainul Abedin found beauty and dignity in everyday lives. His interest in the Santhal community reflected a wider concern for people often overlooked, and his belief in an art connected to local life and culture.

Inspired by his Two Santhal Women (1951), this diary celebrates that way of seeing. The women’s gentle presence within a natural setting invites us to appreciate an ordinary moment—and to recognise the people, traditions and sense of belonging within it. Their Santhal identity is an essential part of the story.

At NoTypical, we revisit this work through hand embroidery, bringing its warmth into textured stitches and earthy colours. It brings together our love for cultural storytelling and the personal touch of handmade craft, while honouring Abedin and the community he portrayed.

A diary for the thoughts, plans and memories you want to keep, with a cover that offers a story worth knowing.

Vertical: 21.5 cm.
